What is NDIS transport?
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides funding for transport assistance to help people with disability access the support they need. It helps people with disability get to and from medical appointments, school or day activities, work, and social and leisure activities.
Who can access NDIS transport?
People with a disability who are eligible for NDIS support and have transport needs related to their disability can access NDIS transport. This could include people of all ages with significant physical or mental health conditions that impact their mobility and ability to access services or work.
I'd like to travel on my own, but I need help getting started. How can you help?
We are here to help you learn the skills and gain the independence needed to travel on your own. We can assist in helping you catch local buses or trains, requesting taxis/Ubers and gaining knowledge of bus routes around your area. We will provide training and advice tailored specifically for your needs so that you can safely and comfortably travel independently.
Is NDIS transport covered in my plan?
NDIS covers things like public transport funding (buses and trains), taxi travel, and specialised transport (like door-to-door services). It also covers costs associated with travelling long distances for support or therapeutic reasons. Depending on your NDIS plan, you may need to submit quotes and/or invoices related to your transport costs.
